The Secret Place: The Decision

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalms 91:1 (WEB)

In the original language of the Bible, the secret place is defined as a covering, shelter, and hiding place.

Most High describes God as being the highest in all things, in every way.

There is no god or created being higher than Him.

This scripture tells of a safe place of covered shelter, that belongs to the most capable, most intelligent, most wise, most strong, most superior God, with the highest authority.

This safe place comes with the promise of rest in God Almighty.

This place, His presence, and this promise, is available with one decision.

The decision to dwell.

Dwell: to live or stay as a permanent resident.

He who dwells in the secret place.....

The decision to dwell in the secret place is a decision of intentionality.

It is a decision to partake in close fellowship with God, on purpose.

It is a decision to live in the place of being in continual, intimate communication with the Most High God.

It is a decision to enter into the place of genuine communion, and staying there.

Where we live naturally is a matter of physical location.

Where we live spiritually is a matter of the position of our heart.

To dwell in the secret place, is a decision to always have our hearts postured toward heaven.

It is to always have our ear to the heartbeat of God.

It is to earnestly desire His will and purpose, in everything we say and do.

When our heart is at home in God..

When we place His presence as our life's priority....

When we make the decision to become a permanent resident of the secret place, it is then that we are positioned for rest.

Rest when life is going well.

Rest in the midst of trials.

Rest in abundance.

Rest in heartache.

Rest while under attack.

Rest, in the shadow of El Shaddai.

Rest in God Almighty.

For Reflection:

1.Have I made the decision to dwell in the secret place?

2. When have I experienced rest as a result of my decision to dwell in the the secret place?
