The Gift

The Christmas holiday is such a beautiful time of year.

It's a time that we spend with those that we love.

A time to enjoy festive lights, decorations, cookies, hot chocolate, and gifts.

Gifts.

Some gifts we stand in line for and some gifts we answer the door for.

Some gifts are expensive and some only cost time.

As Christians, it's important for us to enjoy this beautiful time of year, while keeping The Gift as the center of our celebrations.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

The payment for sin is death.

God did not want mankind to have to die for our sins, so He gave a us a Gift, eternal life.

God placed the sins of mankind on his sinless Son and allowed Him to die in our place.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

God gave His only Son to the entire world, to give the opportunity for eternal life. Whosoever, believes in Him, will have everlasting life.

There are 4 days left until Christmas.

That means there are...

4 days left to get the menu together.

4 days to find hiding places for gifts.

4 days to put up a Christmas tree.

4 days to hang Christmas lights

4 days to do last minute shopping.

Most importantly, there are 4 days that we can share, The Gift of Jesus Christ.

The Gift whose birth we celebrate at Christmas.

The Gift that gave His life to save ours.

The Gift that is available to every person.

The Gift.

Let's make it a priority to ensure that the ones we exchange gifts with, we will see in eternity.

Let's share the plan of salvation, as we share the recipe for our special dessert.

Share Jesus with someone. He is the most appropriate Gift all year long.

Eternal Life. The Gift that everyone needs.

If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9

For Reflection

1. How can I focus more on Jesus at Christmas time?

2. What are some ways that I prioritize the gift of eternal life?
