Press Forward, There's More...

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 3:12-14 (NLT)

In our walk with God, we will have repeated opportunities to gain a testimony of His goodness.

Sometimes our testimonies are birthed from trials and tribulations.

Sometimes our testimonies are birthed from great accomplishments and achievements.

Regardless of how our testimony is obtained, we have to be intentional about moving forward in our relationship with God.

Whenever God moves in our lives and on our behalf, we should always respond with praise and thanksgiving.

However, we don't stop there.

God is infinite.

He has no limits.

Therefore, there is so much more of Him to experience.

Yes! He supplied our needs but there's more...

Yes! He called us to maturity through that painful situation but there's more....

Yes! He blessed us financially but there's more....

Yes! He highlighted some opportunities for growth but there's more....

Yes! He saved our lives but there's more...

Yes! He disciplined us when we were wrong but there's more...

Yes! He healed our bodies but there's more...

In relationship with God, our desire is to know Him more intimately with each passing day.

His infinite nature makes it impossible to "arrive" in our capacity of knowing Him.

Therefore, let us not confine the character of a timeless God, to the accomplishments, victories, and testimonies of yesteryear.

Instead, let us press forward in great pursuit, because there's so much more of Him to experience.

Let us pursue His heart, because knowing Him is our prize.

He alone is our reward.

For Reflection

  1. Lord help me to know you more intimately today that I knew you yesterday.
