Let's Start Here

Root: the fundamental or essential part, the source or origin of a thing, to cause to strike root, to strengthen with roots, to render firm, to fix, establish, cause a person or thing to be thoroughly grounded

The beginning, is vitally important to the life and success of any endeavor.

As believers, our new creation in Christ, was established in the work of cross; the greatest act of love.

This truth should be the beginning, the anchor, the root, of everything we do as Christians.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Ephesians 3:17-19

This scripture tells us that our roots grow down into God's love and keep us strong.

This results in being anchored and overwhelmed, by a love we will know from no other source.

Love that travels wide enough to embrace us.

Love that travels higher than any mountain that stands in our path.

Love that is longer than any trial can last.

Love that is deeper than the deepest heartache.

It is from this love, that we are complete and full, lacking nothing.

When we are complete, full, and rooted in the overwhelming love of God; we will not begin any endeavor, in an attempt to fill a void.

Instead, our efforts will flow from the truth of being established and secure.

We will enjoy God and walk in His purpose for our lives, from the security of love, not in the search of love.

When we are faced with plans to launch, restart, and reboot, let's start here, at the beginning, at the root of the matter.

The root of the matter: We are fully complete in God. His love for us is overwhelming.

Now.....Let's get started.

For Reflection

  1. Do I have projects, assignments, or endeavors that I have started but have not yet completed?

  2. Are these projects rooted in the truth that I am already loved, and not the desire to be loved by completing these endeavors?

  3. Are there opportunities for me to reevaluate my being rooted in the truth that I am already complete in God, prior to the launch or restart of any future endeavors?
