It Is Written

When the enemy tempted Jesus in the wilderness in Matthew 4, Jesus responded repeatedly "It is written." After the last time Jesus tells Satan, "It is written," Matthew 4:11 tells us that the enemy left him. Satan is unable to handle a righteous life that consistently confronts Him with God's Word. Let us do as Jesus did, and tell the enemy what the word of God says. Let us be reminded to use our sword when engaged in warfare with the enemy. "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word." Ephesians 6:17 (CEB)
